Where is your focus at?

Did you know what consumes your mind is what controls your life? Where is your focus today? Are you spending too much time on social media or the things that takes your eyes off of God? Are you complaining more about the hardships in your life than making the decision to remove any obstacles that weakens your mind?  How are words coming out of your mouth?

If you prioritize and put God first- reading scriptures on daily basis-for example, you will find yourself focused more on God’s possibilities than on your adversaries. The more time you FOCUS on God, the more your heart is strengthened then you will acknowledge and discern Him in every areas of your life. When we spend time in the Word and have an active prayer life and something happens, our world is seemingly falling apart, others will see our Faith in God when we hold onto that true Faith. To do that, we must keep our focus on Him. Instead of making excuses of how big your problems are, we can instead focus on asking the Lord to increase our understanding and bring us to His perspective. We can do that by reading His Word.

The more you focus on yourself and your problems, the more distracted you will be which will take you off  the right path. That is why we need His Living Word to make and keep our path straight. The more you know Him and meditate on His living Words, the more the Spirit will make you aligned with Him. The more you are alike Him, the better you will understand His sufficiency and sovregnity for all of life’s difficulties. Focusing on Him is the only way to have His peace living in our heart through trusting and knowing that He will take care of us.

If our focus is apart from God, then our heart becomes far from God.
Matthew 15:8 “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.”

Jeremiah 29:13 “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

Jeremiah 24:7 “I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the LORD; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart.”

Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my Redeemer.”

When your focus is not on God, your mind is going to be filled with so much noise from trials around us. At times, you will have to run and be alone with the Lord and be still before Him. When you do that, He can make your path straight and you’re allowing Him to calm the noise around you.

God is who He says He is. He is our protector, our provider, our healer, our strength, our guider, and more. When you’re so focused on God in the midst of trials that will show a heart that TRUSTS in the Lord. When we have TRUST, then our thoughts, our words, our doing will be more like Him and we gain the peace the world cannot give. Your responses, your attitude, your character, your focus will make an impact on your life and on others around you.

Isaiah 26:3 “You will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace, for it is trusting in You.”

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”

Psalm 112:7 “They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the LORD.”

Psalm 57:7 “My heart is confident in you. O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!”

No wonder I love to sing praises! When I had encountered hardships in DWOF ministry by false accusations-years ago- I didn’t slip or become moved because I put my focus on God and it gave me a confident heart. I knew that God is sovereign. I knew He will make things right because He is the God that sees everything. The truth always comes out and the result is that those who had slandered DWOF came forth and apologized. God always has the Victory.

Psalm 91:14-15 “Because he has focused his love on me, I will deliver him. I will protect him because he knows my name. When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him in his distress. I will deliver him, and I will honor him.”
